Mister Freedom is one of the most unique clothing stores in Los Angeles. Specializing in men’s and women’s clothing from the 1850s to present, with an emphasis on a style and quality that isn’t found in much of the clothing being produced today, Mister Freedom sells both a line of their own creation as well as vintage clothing of past eras at their storefront in Hollywood. With all of the clothes being made in either Japan or the U.S.A., Mister Freedom is part of the growing American workwear revival; in Los Angeles, Mister Freedom is one of a few retailers, including Unionmade Goods, Self Edge, and Mohawk General Store, that has chosen to focus on quality-made and vintage-inspired clothing and produce an aesthetic not often found in many national chain stores. Mister Freedom’s Hollywood location is a storefront and atelier that is truly unlike any other—prices are high, very high, but the pieces are unique and expertly crafted to age well.
Tip: Mister Freedom is located next door to the New Beverly Cinema, one of the oldest revival movie houses in Los Angeles; Susina Bakery, Milk, Osteria Angelini, and Insomnia Cafe are also within walking distance.
Metro: 14 bus exit Formosa, 212/312 exit Beverly, head west two block.
